Rare Brain Tumor Contains Fully Formed Teeth

A rare brain tumor containing fully formed teeth was discovered in a 4-month-old infant in Maryland. This is the first time that surgeons have found teeth in this type of tumor. The boy is progressing well now that the tumor has been removed. The tumor was first discovered when doctors noticed that the child’s head was growing abnormally fast. Study Urges Olympic Athletes to Make Their Toothbrush as Important as Their Stopwatch

A study recently published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, revealed that many dental athletes suffer from serious dental health problems. The study examined the oral health of 302 athletes participating in the 2012 Olympic games in London. The study found that 55% of the athletes exhibited dental caries and over 75% had gingivitis.
